Blessing

May the sun bring you new energy by day, may the moon softly restore you by night, may the rain wash away your worries, may the breeze blow new strength into your being. May you walk gently through the world and know its beauty all the days of your life. ~Apache Blessing

I call upon you, O Lord.
In the morning you hear me;
in the morning I offer you my prayer, watching and waiting. . .Psalm 5
I lift my heart to you, O Lord,
to be strengthened for this day.
Be with me in all I do, my God;
guide me in all my ways.

Saturday Prayer

May God, the source of all patience and encouragement, enable you to live in perfect harmony with one another according to the spirit of Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and voice you may glorify God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Accept one another, then, as Christ accepted you, for the glory of God.
Romans 15:5-7

Battlefield of the Mind

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12
New American Standard Bible (NASB)

Thus begins Joyce Meyer's book "Battlefield of the Mind" which we are now studying Mondays at 1:00 pm.

Our Monday Bible Study group has begun studying Marva Dawn's book, "In the Beginning, God."  Marva tells us of the "dazzling wonder" evident in Genesis 1 - 3 and encourages us to focus on God, to look around and SEE ! "When you see the wonders of the earth and sky, don't you respond with greater gratitude to their Creator, increased praise to God?"

In the Beginning, God ....

“The Bible is all about God,” writes Marva J. Dawn in the opening paragraph of her latest work, In the Beginning, God. “That might seem an overly obvious point with which to begin a book on character formation, but if we consider the mater seriously, we discover that we often read the Bible imagining it is about ourselves.”
Dawn wants readers to understand the enormous shift in perspective that occurs when we stop asking, “what does this text say about me,” and start, instead, by asking, “What is God doing in this text?”
That is the big idea behind In the Beginning, God. The book primarily is a study of Genesis 1-3 and how their focus on God as the principle transforms our attitude toward faith, Scripture and worship from self-improvement to adoration.

We will be reading Marva Dawn's book "In the Beginning God, Creation, Culture and  the Spiritual Life" for Monday Bible Study Group. Join us now!
